4Well worth it.   Jul 01, 2008
I really like the Edge 500 Treadmill. It was a snap to put together. One thing I did to make storage easier was to leave off the side arms. This way I can place it up against the wall without them sticking out. I find that the front "handlebar" is enough to hang onto. So far there is no trouble with the tread tracking to one side or another. Also, the "computer readout" seems to be working fine.

There is more resistance to walking with this than the traditional electric treadmill. But I count this as a plus. I figure I'm working a little harder so I can cut down on my walking time to get the same exercise.

This treadmill is perfect for this time of year for me in Tampa where during the summer it is way to hot and humid to go walking outside. I just pull it up in front of the TV and go to it.

If there is a complaint it would be that the wheels are a little small. Sometimes when I move it to put it away they seem to bind up. But it still slides without any problem. I can live with that. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

3Edge 500 Manual Treadmill Review  Jun 26, 2008
The Edge 500 Manual Treadmill is a good value for those interested in a basic treadmill. It assembled easily and doesn't occupy much space. However, the belt often sticks while you are walking throwing your pace off. I purchased this item for my wife since I belong to a health club where the tredmills are electric and provide a constant pace.

5Exactly What I Wanted!  Apr 21, 2008
This thing is great! I was looking for something inexpensive, sturdy, and affordable, that I could fold up. To be honest, once I had this put together (which was fairly simple) I didn't really want to fold it up. I really love this treadmill; it is certainly a great workout and it's entirely self powered which is so convenient (just get on and go).

It's really not loud at all when you are just walking on it (all you hear is the sound of the belt moving which isn't loud). You can easily walk on it and watch TV at the same time with no trouble hearing and it doesn't wake anyone up if I'm on it while they're sleeping. The only time it gets a little loud is if you are running fast on it.

I LOVE to walk, and it's how I get most of my exercise (it's one of the few exercises that isn't a drag to do) but weather conditions and outdoor allergies don't always allow for long walks. With this I get plenty of exercise and I really enjoy using this machine; and there are absolutely no excuses not to jump on and use it.

One last note; I know a few people have had issues with their digital readers (which I wasn't all that concerned with because that's not why I was buying it) but I haven't had any problems at all with the digital reader on this, it works just great.

5Edge 500 Manual Treadmill  Mar 15, 2008
The only problem I had with it was the console. The wires wouldn't reach . But I simply unscrewed the console, and fortunately was able to shove the rubber covering the bar over a bit and then screw the console back on and then the wires connected without difficulty. The console works very well, and the whole thing took only about 2 hours to put together. It works well, but there is no way to make it flat, if that's what you want. But I think it was worth the money.

1Good customer service; bad, bad product  Jan 25, 2008
My first Edge 500 broke within a few days. Something broke off inside and began to rattle loudly whenever I took a step. In addition, the belt walked itself over to the right side until it jammed against the side of the treadmill and refused to budge. Customer service was very helpful and cooperative, sending another treadmill promptly. Having foolishly discarded the first box, I returned the product in the box from the second treadmill. We "greased up" the second Edge 500, using its recommended product, and aligned the belt, again, using its product. Within 15 minutes it began to whine and squeal with a sound which only increased in intensity while the belt rapidly walked itself over toward the right, as the first Edge 500 had done. We just cut our losses and hauled the thing over to the Salvation Army donation center. You truly do get what you pay for.
